The Tennessee Department of Transportation says it will close the westbound entrance ramp to I-24 from Wattendorf/AEDC Highway near Exit 117 in Coffee County from Monday evening, Oct. 12, until Monday morning, Oct. 19, as crews prepare to move construction into Phase 2. The closure is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Central time and end at 6 a.m. Central time, according to TDOT’s announcement.
TDOT says a signed detour will guide motorists during the closure. The department expects the ramp to reopen at the scheduled time, but says the work depends on weather and could be rescheduled if bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances cause delays.
The department says drivers should expect delays while traveling through the area. TDOT’s announcement directs travelers to check the TDOT SmartWay Map for construction and traffic updates or call 511 for statewide travel information.
